As soon as I load up unreal tournament, the sound becomes choppy and distorted. The performance is horrible in games due to this and i have done everything i could think of to fix it. I have all new drivers, installed directX 8, etc etc. If anyone could help I would be very appreciative.

What kind of soundcard do you have ? Also, please post more of you system specs, as mobo, processor, etc ...

Try disabling harware sound acceloration. It should improve performance in the game. Maybe even the choppy sound, but I'm not sure.

Yeah I've had the same problems and it said in the UT FAQ that you should upgrade your A3D drivers because it can cause UT to degrade performace up to 50 percent! but i've done that and it got worse read my post http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum8/HTML/001733.html
