I've had many problems with Win98 SE(Not upgrade). Homebuilt system: C300A, BH6, Mushkin 128MB PC-100 -GH SDRAM, IBM 14.4 deskstar, Asus V3400TNT, Xitel Storm Platinum. Ram is in slot #3. Everything checks out o.k., but always crashing, freezing, and errors. Can I start from scratch with another clean install of OS? How? Thanks.

The easiest way to make sure you get a "clean install" is to format the drive. With a bootdisk with the format utility on it. boot to the a: and then type "format c: /q" without the " " marks. It will then format the drive and when it finishes put in your WIN98 bootdisk and your off to the races http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks indeed Mntsnow,

I'm going to give it a little more time. I updated BIOS. I did a file check and restored some DLLs, that I somehow deleted, when I was trying to install new Nvidia and Asus drivers. I had major problems after installing both.
