Hi :t
I'm getting a XP2100+ tbred-b tonight and putting it in a
Soltek 75FRN-L.
I currently have 2x256 sticks of pc2100 generic RAM.
The Mobo has locks on the AGP and PCI bus, but what about the RAM?
I want to up the FSB to 166(333) to turn my 2100+ > 2700+.
Will my pc2100 ram stay at 2100 speeds and live in harmony with my new CPU? Or will it force 333 and explode?
Hope some people can help me, thank you :)

You can force it to stay at 2100 speeds. If you're lucky, your ram might be able to handle 2700 speeds. Give it a try - my pc2100 can run at pc2700. :)

Thanks, glad to hear it.
Does trying out my ram at 2700 risk it dying on me? I really dont want to replace parts when i could buy something else ;)
Also: would the ram at 133(266) (also running in DUAL DDR mode on the nFORCE) be the bottleneck for the 166 fsb CPU? Or would I still gain the benefits from having a 2700+?
Thanks again :)

Mines a 2100.
It's the code down the bottom. See the B on the end? The numbers after that are the year and week it was made. Mine is 2003 week 4. (0304)
