When I go into msconfig and uncheck some of the boxes in startup my available sys resources increase. Are there some of these that improve performance that I should'nt mess with? What is findfast?

RyanVM 04-04-1999, 10:28 PM FindFast is an MSOffice thingy that has no real purpose besides wasting resources http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. By unchecking boxes in msconfig (one of the greatest programs ever written!), you're telling certain things not to start, therefore freeing up resources (it's not hogging memory or processor power that way!). Generally there won't be a problem with unchecking boxes, but always expect the unexpected. If something goes fruity, begin there. For example... scan registry, delay, task monitor, etc, etc, etc. Bsdboy 05-10-2001, 11:01 AM mapuana: check out here: http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Uncheck.htm Bsdboy paul233 05-12-2001, 05:29 PM Is there something comparable to msconfig for windows 2000?
