I donīt think it takes a great deal of forcasting ability to see what way the world is heading in a decade or two and to exploit the fact. The world is running out of cheap energy and we all are aware (even as I write this) that in the modern world, energy is king, everything stops without it. The second determination is of course the field of personal interest. Unfortunately many idealististic or artistic endeavors are second rate careers. The computer field is wide open but extremely volitile and for the most part low paying, menial tasks jobs. True a few become wealthy following their field of dreams, but most are just dreamers. I worked with several software, firmware and hardware developers in the Silicon Valley, most loved their work but lived in abject poverty just to follow their rainbows. I once had a telephone installer that told me that after his military service he looked for employment. Chose the tel: company because when times were good he was installing, when times were bad he was taking them out. Always had a good job, now retired. Claims he met and liked a million people.
