Well, weve surely all heard of the famous british Government report on Al-Quaeda and Saddam's WMD capabilities. We should all also know that said report was a crock, being a composite of several other sources. However do we know WHY, it was a phoney?

Yeah, the British goverment looked pretty stupid after that fiasco. I don't think the US is short of Intel, especially with the cooperation of Isreal's Mossad, just that the US can't just say there are things here, here, and here to the international community. Saddam would have them moved in a heartbeat and if we go to war, we need to know where they are at. We've given the UN inspectors info before, many times they've come up empty handed with what was intel gathered from many sources, so that just shows the inspectors have been infiltrated in some way or another. The fact that not ONE scientist has been allowed to leave the country is another problem, they can interview that scientist to death in a hotel room, but with moderm electronics, Iraq's intelligence service could be across the street and hear everything that is said clear as day, the technology to do that has been around for quite some time. Also the 2 days warning for u2 flights, thats not unconditional, that also gives him plenty of time to move stuff out the way. If he wouldn't be violating UN charter and firing on US and UK warplanes enforcing the UN mandate that he signed, he wouldn't have to use that excuse which so many idiots are buying.

I mean if you can't state exact proofs, at least give a full report on what Iraq has done in violation in UN charter and in what they haven't accounted for. Don't go jumping off into the deep end of the pool when you can't swim. Dealing with Saddam, and any dictator or any country which posses WMD is a tricky one to convince the populace of, and it also makes for a dirty war, which makes it even worse. You can't reveal much as the more you reveal, the more the enemy has on your intelligence capabilities in their country. Going after terrorist is the same thing - it's a messy situation - though now there is no central goverment and it's like trying to get rid of a massive cockroach infestation. A can of RAID isn't gonna do it - you have to be ready in the cases of dealing with loons (whether of the state, or terrorist) to get one's hands dirty. Your hands will only get dirtier if you give the public more information, as that gives those people more info on what the country(ies) know about them - and in any situation, knowledge is power.
