Mike GroundZero3 05-12-2001, 11:47 AM plenty of ram. 256mb or more. fast processor (1.2 ghz athlon) and mb to support it (asus). a really nice internet connection. i prefer a T3 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif If the game supports it Linux or win2k if not supported by linux. oh yeah and make sure you keep that case cool! Jason [This message has been edited by GroundZero3 (edited 05-12-2001).] MikeHof 05-12-2001, 11:54 AM So the processor is more important than the hard drive?? I was curious about that. I have adsl connection runs at 35 kbs. Think that is fast enough? Thanks for the info though. GroundZero3 05-12-2001, 01:13 PM oh yeah forgot about the hard dirve. i would get a 7200 rpm. i think that a processor is more important than the hard drive becasue the processor will be dealing with the load of people on it Jason NDC 05-12-2001, 06:17 PM But the hard disk will be important as well, since data will be sent to the client side.... I don't know how many people will be hitting you server, but I would recommend a SCSI hard disk since it has "Command-tag queuing". ooops 05-12-2001, 06:46 PM Your connection is very important ..... you can have the fastest CPU and massive amounts of RAM , but will be useless if it can't handle the traffic.... ooops 05-12-2001, 06:49 PM on the equipment side, as cheap as everything is these days , use a dual processor set-up with RAID and lots of that inexpensive RAM .......
