What cases and/or power supplies do u recommend for the following two systems?:
System1
-------
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.33 GHZ 266FSB
256 MB SDRAM DIMM
IWill KK266 Socket A with onboard sound
Maxtor 60GB ata100 DiamondMax Plus 7200rpm
Toshiba 16X DVD
Plexwriter 16/10/40
ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 32MB DDR
floppy drive :P
(and probably a generous amount of upgrading and addons in future)
System Two
----------
AMD Duron 750Mhz
IWill KK266 with onboard sound
Some(already has it) 10gb HardDrive
48x CD-ROM
Leadtek Geforce II MX 32mb video card
128mb memory
floppy drive :P
(maybe a CDRW will be added in future)
Is a 300W AMD approved PS enough for the first system? (keep in mind future upgrades and addons)
Is a 250W AMD approved PS enough for the second system?
What cases do u recommend?
thanks a lot people

AMD Athlon™ Processor Recommended Power Supplies
To ensure reliable operation of AMD Athlon™ Processor-based systems, an AMD-recommended power supply is required.

There's info for the Duron also on their site.

That's pretty much a mirror image of my system now (except it's an Athlon classic not a Duron), generic 250W power supply, fine for a year now.

I have an Enermax 431w power supply and it's pretty quiet. It has two fans on it, one of which sucks air from the cpu area. The speed of the fans also adjusts to how hot the case is. This Power Supply has enough energy to give to all your future upgrades like more case fans.
As for the cases I would go with something aluminum. It might cost a lot, but it will run your system cooler than a standard steel case. I personally have a Lian Li PC60. It cost me about $180 and doesn't come with a power supply. I basically have the same setup you have in system number one, but I have only one cd drive. If you don't want to drop a lot of money on a case then go with an Antec case. Antec cases come with Antec power supplies which are as good as an Enermax.

hey guys.... thanks a lot for ur valuable advices. I think i will go with a 250w for the duron and a 300(+)W for the tbird.
I'll keep Antec in mind. I am planning to go over to our local store (they have a HUGE inventory at web-like prices) this week. Prolly select one from there.
Thanks a lot

I doubt that an aluminum case cools better than a steel one....and that is putting it mildly.....here is a review that includes the pitfalls of aluminum http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/r_skyhawks_4388/
They do look cool tho, for 5 times the price.
