I'm upgrading from a Epox 8KH+ to a Soyo Platinum 400. Can I delete all the old devices, put the new board in and then install the new drivers? Will this cause nasty problems?

Or should I reformat the drive and start from scratch? I don't want to do this if I don't have to.

I'm running the Epox board with 512Mb of Crucial DDR 2100 RAM, a GEForce 2Ti and Windows ME. I have 2 HDs available-I planned on hooking each one to one of the RAID sockets on the MB and just running them as standard HDs.

Thanks,
Don

It does make life much easier, having said that if its WINXP or WIN2k doing a repair process isntall straight after the rebuild can sometimes get things running okay :)

yeah, or reinstall windows after upgrade,

BUT, what i do is delete registry key: hkey_local_machine/enum

delete enum, shutdown. this resets windows drivers, and what it thinks is in the box! same as reinstalling!
