I was debating whether or not to post here or in the Gaming Forum, but ultimately figured it was more appropriate here.
Is anyone familiar with or has used Transgaming WINE for linux? I'm familiar with the WINE setup and its usefulness. However, this particular one is designed specifically for gaming.
For info on this please go HERE (http://www.transgaming.com/)
Scroll down to the version 2.2.1 which currently is the newest available version.

What exactly do you want to do?
In my experience Wine and WineX use config files and a linux directory is setup as you C: drive and the /mnt/floppy/ is set up as A: and a cd rom is set up on /mnt/cdrom.
You use Wine to install programs and it emulates DOS/Windows to run applications for linux. I haven't used Wine for a while but I think my filesystem was setup /usr/share/wine/c as the root of C:
When I wanted to run a DOS/Windows app I would use "wine /usr/share/wine/c/.../exeecutable.exe" and it would load. You can also use "wine c:\path\executable.exe" and programs would run. There are ways to make wine use native windows .dll files by copying them and using the config files to specify use. When wwine is installed there are a buch of libraries installed taht emulate native windows DLL files.

He's not talking about simple WINE, he's talking about Transgaming's WINE. It's a sort of an extension or so for WINE that supports the DirectX API, and other things, to enable playing DirectX games on Linux. Not all games work perfectly, but they put extra effort toward major titles. The catch is that it's a 5$ monthly subscription for Prepackaged files, or downloading the sources.
A couple of monthes ago I wanted to do this "move" to a "Linux Gamer". The only reason I put up with MS for all these years is that fact that I Play games. Otherwise I would have long got rid of this monstrousity. But it's not easy. Then I stumbled upon Transgaming, and decided to check it out. But I postpounded it until I'll have more free time, cuz I doubt that things will go smoothly.
Anyway If you do install transgaming and need any kind of help, feel free to PM me, and I'll send you my ICQ. In any event I would be happy if you posted your progess, impressions and expiriences with it.

Yes that's what I meant by "or downloading the sources", but now when I look at it I see it's not likely to be understood that way...
