Thought that topic may get somones attention. I would like to learn more about raid systems and what they are used for and how they work. Here is what I am guessing they do:
its a card that combines more than one hard drive so the PC things it is all one harddrive? I dunno...maybe that is a dumb assumption. Are they just SCSI or do they come in EIDE/ATA66/UDMA33? I have 4 harddrives, a CDRW, a DVD and a CDrom that I want to have on my PC...is this possible?

Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks

There are levels 0 through 5 which involve disk mirroring, striping, and other stuff. That's the extent of my knowledge. I think you can use drives other than SCSI drives if you have the right card... Anyone else with more info?

Hi

An interesting link:

http://www.acnc.com/raid.html

You can implement RAID with SCSI or IDE (Promise FastTrack)

It is also available, software wise, in Windows NT 4.0 and Linux.
