i have just got a copy of linux redhat 8.0 and want to install it, the problem is i have 2 hdd's, c drive is running 2000pro,f is running xp pro and g has nothin on it...how can i put redhat onto g drive ????? if i boot up from cdrom to install redhat will i be given the option of what hdd/partition i want to install it on or will it attempt to write over c drive.........i really do not want to risk screwing up c or f drives.......any ideas guys

It will allow you to select the partition or which hard drive you want to install it on.

If you install 8.0 make sure you designate a user account when it asks for it or your won't be able to access the system on boot-up. You can't bypass it assuming that the root password you assign is enough. I learned the hard way. Mandrake on the other hand will allow you to skip that assignment if you decide to migrate to it.
As previously mentioned the program will allow you to assign the partition you want so you don't have to worry about that.
