ASUS A7V133 - when I put a hard drive in the primary and the secondary ultra ata 100 IDE slots on the board,it won't show up in the device manager, and in the the performance tab under system properties it will say that the hard drive is operating in a dos mode, that's all it will say. If I put it up in the standard IDE slot on the board, the message doesn't show up, and it shows up in the device manager. Is there a fix for this???

in the bios under BOOT MENU make sure
Load onboard ATA bios, is set to ( auto )
and
SCSI/ATA100 BOOT Sequence (ATA100/SCSI)


in device mangler you should have
SCSI controlers
/ Promice ultra ATA100(tm) IDE controler etc,etc,
and you have to load the correct drivers for it from the Floppy that came with the mobo or get the latest drivers from Asus

if you have not done this then that is your problem if you have let us know what is in the device mangler etc etc ?
