A few days ago my computer and sound really started to slow down. Happened while i was playing a game that required my gravis game controller. When i removed controllers, computer and sound were fine. I reinstalled windows xp, same thing. i have my onboard sound and game controllers deactivated in bios, and i am only using the soundblaster card now. Why is my computer slowing down when the gamepad is plugged in???? pls help.

You haven't clearly stated how the game controllers are connected. What is it - USB or gameport?

That's the gameport. I have noticed some problems with the K7S5A when running heavy 3D graphics. I get similar symptoms - with any audio card - to what you're getting. Sound slows and gets out of synch with the video. I wish I knew myself what causes this.

Move the SoundBlaster to a different PCI slot. I doubt this will work but it's worth a shot.
Also, try removing the SoundBlaster altogether and use the built-in sound and gameport.
Or just get a cheap USB gamepad.
