Some times when I end some programs, there is a blank botton on my task bar and i don't know how to get rid of it. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesent. The last time it did this I had to format and restore to get rid of it. I'm running win98SE.

Does this happen with just one paticular program and NOT screen savers? If so, the problem would be with some bad code in thta program.

hey phinton... I don't know what the heck the deal is with that, but I get it every time I close q2. sometimes even 2 or three of them... who cares though, if I close them, they seem to go away just fine.

yeah,,apparently, it's common with quake2, i've seen it occur with Q2 on many different types of machines, but i've never seen it happen with any other apps. It seems to only happen on win98/win98se, but has never been a prob,,i just click on the ghost taskbar button and it magically disappears as magically as it appeared.
