Hello, on the video msg board I read about vid cards with fans, and lots of memory (16m!) and overclocked cards (like cpu's are oc'ed).
Do all video cards have a bios?

If a video card can be overclocked- what does memory have to do with it? Are memory (ram) and processors (I guess they're processors cause you can overclock em...) that similar- Or am I way off base here?
I'm thinking I should practice on my old 2m card before I screw up an expensive newer card.
Thanks, sorry about the newbie question- everyone else here is way ahead of me.

All vidcards have Bioes, well, as far as I know they do. The older ones may not be flash upgradable.

The amount of memory on the card doesn't affect the "overclockability" of the card.

The type of graphic processor it has matters. The OC utility you choose has to support the chip.

Some vidcards have better performance gains than others under the same overclocked scenario.

The ability or tolerence each card has to being OCed can be different from card to card, even from the same manufacturer/model.

Your best bet for chip support is Entech's PowerStrip entechtaiwan.com (http://entechtaiwan.com) for your older 2MB vidcard.
