Y'all -

I built a system and i just can't seem to believe the temps. I've pulled my hair out (what I have left) trying to figure out why Sandra reports me at 55c on both board and cpu temps. The board is supposed to be "jumperless" but has a jumper for Thermal Temp and another for CPU temp. When I jump 'em, the BIOS and Sandra both report 0c.........HUH??????

I feel like an idiot on this one and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my system:

A Open AK33 MoBo
AMD 800 Athalon (not o/c'ed yet 'cuz of temps)
640 pc133 sdram
30 gig hd
32 gForce AGP card
ethernet
modem
19" monitor

Cooling:
typical heatsink and fan for Athalon
1 front fan
1 rear fan (w/ sp fan)

Even 800 MHz Duron can produce high heat (about 42 Watt, actually), you'll need more then the just "typical" HS/F to cool it, go for GlobalWin FOP-38 or WBK38, or Vantec FCE640 coolers, with fan that can blow more then 25 CFM ... and don't forget the thermal paste, just the right amount, on top of the chip.

Best Regards ...

Thanks ND. I've got a Cyclone heat sink / fan around here that I would use 'cept I don't think it'll clear on the mobo I'll give her a try today. Yeah, I swear by the paste!
