Hi
I heard there are kits that use the existing phone wires in your house to connect comuters in a network... Maybe I missheard something, but can someone shed light on this setup?

I have not heard of that, but it seems very possable. The ones that I have seen work are the ones the use your electrical system as a network. My uncle has one that works very well. Just plug in the adapter to the outlet and you are set.

Yes this is possible, but they do NOT work correctly and there are cheaper and more reliable ways to network in the home.

Look into wireless.

Yeh but isnt wireless kinda bad, radiation and stuff

I want to split internet connection with a router, so i thought that telephone/network should be the easiest way to go since i have phone jacks in almost every room.

WHat do u mean does not work correctly?

Radia what?!?!?! :x

you've been mis informed

Wireless uses RF radio frecuency

just like your Wireless Phone inside your house

not the CELL Phones

Cell Phones uses Microwave

Wireless Phone (network) uses RF signals

aight so maybe wireless is the answer but whats the company to trust?

I was thinking linksys with their wireless router and network card but ive read on amazon.com that some people had problems with quality of the router (it kept on breaking) and then its hard to get good wireless connection cause the antenna of the card does not have a good design...
anyone had any experience with linksys wireless network equipment? any other company u can recommend?

I use Linksys at home. Their antenna are way better than the little dlink or smc or belkin ones. I haven't use a netgear one yet. Just stay with the same brand for the network card and access point and you should be ok.

no matter which wireless you choose, it will be slower than running cable. if these are not mobile computers, then it wouldn't be worth it to get wireless.
