I was playing Blackhawk and probe started beeping. I exited the game and looked at the probe monitor. My Mobo's temperature was 201ºF I liked to friggin died.
I ran out of the room and grabbed the first bottle of Halon I could find and told my room-mate to dial 911.
Seriously, It seemed a little unstable during shut down. This might be due to trying close out of Blackhawk though. I pulled off the side panel and everything was ok. The motherboard wasnt hot and it booted to bios but that is far as it got. I heard some rather odd noises coming from the PC like a clicking sound. I tried again and booted ok, but not normal(10 or 15 second longer boot). Its running ok now. I was wondering if anyone who has this board ever has had similar experiences.

asus probe don't work on older MOBO and still don't work on the latest one so get over it asus don't care and hasn't fixed the old one and will not repair the problems in the one that are out there now. it's a fact you will live with. sorry k8vol .

I agree totally.. I have ASUS A7N8X Deluxe (Bios version 1001.G) The temps in Bios are WAAAAY higher than they really are... I have Motherboard Monitor 5 as well as actual temp probes that I datoed into the bottom of my water blocks with a dremmel tool so I know they're wrong...

My experiences with anything ONBOARD, whether it's SATA or RAID, have been disappointing at best... I choose to wait for Serial to get better before I buy, and am using a RocketRAID 404 card with 4 Seagate 40's (7200). If you're really serious about SATA, then take a look at this card which comes with adaptors, etc.. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=manufactory&catalog=11&manufactory=1640&description=&Order=priceD and read this article about SATA and the various cards used by THG.. http://www6.tomshardware.com/storage/20030204/serial_ata-17.html Hope this helps.. Good Luck !!:)
