hubs and routers are completely different.
hubs are basically line splitters. they don't do anything but connect your computers together.
a router connects 2 networks together. it directs packets from one network to another.
just get a router with a built-in switch like a Linksys BEFSR41 and you'll be set.

If all you are going to do is have the two computers talk to each other, then the hub or switch will work. If you need to have both computers share a common access to the internet, then the router with the built-in switch will do you good.;)

Hub:
Layer 1 device
A junction boxes(connects computers through cables)
Perform as repeater(regenerates a signal but sends it out on all ports that attached)
Router:
Layer 3 device
Separate networks or subnetworks
Decide routes based on network address
Separate collision and broadcast domains
