Get it Here (http://www.opera.com/download/). :t G 02-11-2003, 12:29 PM So Strawbs you're converted are you? <grin> So what’s Opera like compared to V6.05? Is it worth the update fee? G :t Strawbs 02-11-2003, 12:56 PM Hi G. :t Pages seem to load slightly quicker than with 6.05, It's auto-skinnable from the "Get More Skins" tab and the lay-out has changed slightly (for the better I think). I never bothered upgrading to Pro in 6.05 as I have ZA Pro and it blocks the Ads anyway, as it does with 7.01 even tho' the banner space is still taken up with the sales logo. I like it much more than IE, it looks and feels cleaner and smaller than Netscape or Mozilla and I like opening to a blank screen rather than a homepage, it also seems infinitely configurable. :t vibe666 02-11-2003, 05:40 PM there's good and bad in it. some of the new formatting things don't work properly (in my view) and 7.00 had a security hole in it (which is why we have 7.01 already). Oh, and the email sucks *** in a big way, although there are a couple of good ideas in it, it's not customizable enough, and you can't save changes you made to the layout. But yeah, Opera has been my browser of choice for a long time now. Strawbs 02-11-2003, 06:43 PM I thought v.7.0 was only released as a beta (which would explain the security hole)?? :t trouble 02-12-2003, 08:22 AM just downloaded 7.1 uninstalled 7.0 then installed 7.1 found it to be very buggy, pages wouldnt load properly from various sites(including this one).uninstalled after about an hour and went back to V7.0 running great again. 7.0 was a final not a beta. anyone point me to a site which explains the "security hole"? :t G 02-18-2003, 01:35 PM Thanks Strawbs. I will be upgrading to Opera V7+ some time in the future. G Enya 02-26-2003, 06:58 AM Just installed Opera yesterday. WOW. Really great, and works so much faster!! (and really had some fun with Swedish Chef too) trouble 02-26-2003, 08:46 AM check out the available skins.some are way kewl. :t Strawbs 02-26-2003, 09:15 AM Originally posted by trouble check out the available skins.some are way kewl. :t ...and they install straight from download, It's sooo easy to switch now! :t trouble 02-26-2003, 09:24 AM Yup, Using Metal Blue at the moment.Looks even slicker after I deleted the buttons I have no use for. :t kpm547 02-26-2003, 11:57 AM I've never used opera before. I currently use Mozilla. Which is a better browser (speed, ease to use, security, looks, webpage compatibility, etc) Is it worth switching to Opera? Strawbs 02-26-2003, 12:08 PM each to their own, Opera suits my needs perfectly, others prefer MS IE and others Netscape/Mozzilla, Rumour has it that some ppl still use AOL! Ha! Haa!. The link for Opera v 7.1 is in the first post. D/L and install it, if you don't like it you can always remove it later! :t vibe666 03-01-2003, 10:26 AM just moved from 7.00 to 7.01 the opther day and there's a big difference. I honestly don't think 7.00 should ever have seen the light of day, as 7.01 is so much better in so many ways. Anyone still chugging along with 7.00 should upgrade immediately. Most of the things I didn't like about 7.00 have been fixed, although the mail still sucks, although to a slightly lesser degree than before. SysOpt.com
