I'm using two hard drive,both quantum fireball.I feel that it's quite slow,could it be because i did not install its drivers,windows detect them as standard disk type.If they need their drivers to run their best could you give me the link.The primary hard drive is close to 10 gig and the secondary is about 2 gig.I also see GENERIC IDE DISK TYPE 47 and GENERIC IDE DISK TYPE 80 in my sys prop.Shouldn't it say Quantum or somthing different.

You will need to install a hard drive controller driver to obtain proper naming support under Win9x. Otherwise, Win just lists the drives as generic devices. I assume you are using the motherboard's onboard IDE controller. What m/b are you using?
Also, in regards to performance, the best bet is to check eacks of the drive's properties. Make sure DMA transfers are enabled for maximum performance and efficiency.

You have a VIA chipset motherboard, so you can download the latest VIA 4-in-1 chipset drivers for maximum performance. Here is a link:
