Hi guys, I'm not sure how to do this but this windows xp ACPI compliant is driving me nuts. It says my system is not ACPI compliant. Now that I'm not sure where to find the bios and how to load it and hope for some help here. I'm not sure if i get my motherboards model correctly.
I only see two things:
GA-6BA
&
Gigabyte Rev 2.9
Thanks in advanced.

From what I've read here (http://tw.giga-byte.com/support/support.htm)
the mobo is NOT ACPI compatable.
This means that you should select normal PlugnPlay type installion where bios assigns the IRQ'q or go into bios manually and assign the irq's yourself.:)

I couldn't really tell if you were asking how to "flash your bios" or actually find out what button to press to get into it.
So, if you know this ignore it, but, on most all of the newer bios's when you reboot your system, or turn it on, you simply press the DEL key and it will load your bios. Some bios programs will use the F1 key, and some others will use another. Del is the most common though. If in doubt, look at the manual, but I assume you don't have it because you don't know the model =)
Good luck.

hi, thanks for your advise. Ammok, I'm not sure if your link works but after I read it, the site did teach me how to load bios and I've downloaded a zip file for GA-6BA model. By the way, just in case it doesn't work, can i have other alternatives like formatting away the XP os inside the harddisk? I can't reach the C prompt so I'm actually thinking of getting that old harddisk and bring it over to my new system and make it sec slave, then i format thru my new system. Is it possible? Thanks alot.

Yes, you can slave a second drive and reformat., even if it has XP on it.
You say you cannot get to the c: prompt? have you tried safe mode? Booting from a win98 floppy.? You could reformat from that if your were using fat32 on the hdd. I am thinking you may have a problem flashing if you can't get to dos.

Basically all i can only go to is the setup mode where I hit the DEL on first boot. Other then that, xp would ask me to choose one of the followings:
1. Safe Mode
2. Last Known Configurations that work
3. Start Windows Normally
4. Safe mode with command prompt
I've tried all but right after I've choosen, xp would show me the blue screen and said my bios is not acpi compliant.

Ok, quickest recover for the hard drive is to do what you suggested, bung it in as a slave and reformat from the other machine, you should be fine after that.
