Problem:
Printing over our network is incredibly slow. The jobs seem to be sent quite fast, but the printer will print one line and pause, print another line and pause, etc.

I'm stumped.

Hardware:
8 PC's running Win98 and Win98se using the netbeui protocol.(Our little library can't afford to do client/server)
D-Link 530tx+ NIC.
Linksys 8 port swich. (sorry don't have the model No. in front of me)
Canon i850 printer connected through LPT on the 1st workstation.

Additional:
Printer worked fine until I checked sharing.

Thanks in advance

Andy

did you check the canon website for updated drivers?

how are you mapping your ports? did you try doing lpt captures instead of just the UNC names?

how is the printing from the print server workstation? does it only print 1 line at a time?

I did find updated drivers - will install tomorrow.

Will try capturing the port instead. - Installed on other workstations as a network printer.

Yes, it prints one line at a time, pauses, then prints another line.
