I have about had it with turbo tax. First I cant install it on another computer in my same house and jprint. All the registration BS. Now I get up on a saturday morning, and it won't open, says I have to purchase it again , or call a 800 number and prove I already bought it. WTF? I cant do it online, and they dont' open till 7 pacific time, Im on eastern. I have to sit around for 3 hours while they sleep away in California. This is the last time I ever use their ****. It was good till they screwed with it a few years ago.

Oh God,
I wish I would have read this before I went out today and bought TurboTax Deluxe and State. This is my first run at doing my own taxes...usually I go through my parent's tax guy, but he charges $100 for mine. F that. So, hopefully this goes smoothly....Right, that was just a fluke all that bad happened.....right? :(

I've used TaxSlayer for several years... up till this year it was free unless you E-filed then it was $9.95. I have used Turbo Tax and Tax Slayer is much faster to use. Includes state forum.

This year it's $9.95 including E-file. :t

Well I finally talked to the totally, like , disinterested dude at intuit, and I had to put in a new series of key codes.

When I asked what the problem was, he kept telling me it was just a bug in the software only some people are running into. What a load. Their phones were backed up.

It still wont download the updates, because their server is punked out. The state forms wont work, and Im supposed to trust this with my taxes?I'm gonna dump this and try some of your other suggestions.

NJ, if you havent installed yet, I would take it back. Not worth the aggravation. I have done my taxes manually faster than trying to set this **** up.

What exactly is C'dilla? Did it change my registry?

Just to update anyone who cares, I have talked to 3 different Intuit techs tonite, and I now have another activation code, a confirmation code, a UPS code confirming that they will send a tax CD to my home, and I still cant
Download the State tax program they promised me.

I am about to make a 4th call.

I have been told ;

I must log in as administrator( I am)
Win2k is the prob.(maybe on their side!)
Try again tomorrow.


I could not stay in business if I treated customers this way. The tech guys try to help but they are passing along bogus info.
