....aight here is the details:

PC #1. win2k pro
PC #2. Win98

i got my router today, set up my internet with both PC.

now, im trying to do so that PC1 can see PC2's HD. and vice versa.

i got that all setup and within PC1 trying to view PC2's HD....i can see it and access it no problem.....problem is when im in PC2, trying to view PC1, it asked for password...i put my w2k log in pw still dont work----tried 12345 still dont work.


what am i doing wrong?

on the win2k computer under the sharing properties for the drive it should show if there is full or read only access and if it needs a password
give it a try
that is from win 98
i'm unsure if win2k is the same or a little different

You must log on to Win98 with Client for MS Networks as your primary logon and the username and password must be the same as the one on Win2K or you must add the user and password in Computer Management > Users and Groups.

like Bill said, you need to have your accounts set up properly on the w2k system. check your share and ntfs permissions also.

you can also use lusrmgr.msc
