Ok here is what it does. I'm on a network.

We have 5 computers on the network and mine is the only one that does this.

I'll be on the internet and then all of the sudden my mouse freezes for about 5 seconds then comes back and then my computer has no more internet. When I restart its fine again. this is tickin me off.

I have Windows XP Pro, Logitech cordless mouse, and Charter Cable.

So it's a USB mouse. Is the cable modem using USB too?

The mouse is USB but it came with a splitter that makes it Ps2. The internet is using Rj45. :t

Next time this happens, check Event Viewer to see what Windows records.

Ok, I have a ton of errors in the Event Viewer:eek:

I had one 15 minutes ago it says. It says its DCOM causing the error.

Here's what properties say.

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {FB7199AB-9BF-11D2-8D94-0000F875C541}. The error: "The system cannot find the file specified." Happened while starting this command: C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe-Embedding.

When i start messenger seems to do just fine.

You can't be sure that's it. Check the time carefully next time the freeze happens.

You had better scan for viruses.

Don't forget to check Applications.

I had a problem with sound in WinTV when MSN checked mail. Know what I did? I ripped that little stinker out permanently.

Do what I did.

1. Remove MSMSGS.EXE from MSCONFIG.
2. In Outlook and Outlook Express Options, keep MSN Messenger from starting.
3. Open Task Manager and kill the MSMSGS.EXE process.
4. Immediately delete the MSMSGS.EXE file in C:\Program Files\Messenger
5. Open Regedit and search for and delete all keys (except MRU keys) with MSMSGS.EXE in them.

Now you can download MSN Messenger 5.0 and install it. You'll have much more control over it that way.

Bill I got ride of all of that. But my internet stopped for about 5-10 seconds and then it came back. I checked Event Viewer and I had a WARNING from the same DHCP thing. It says I lost an IP address and said it will try and reconnect which it did reconnect. or somthing like that when I went to properties.

At least it came back though. Hasne't done it today yet.:t
