It is air being released. While we are at it, the white half circle under your finger nails is also air. It is called the "luna". Contrary to urbam legends, cracking your nuckles has not be proven to cause arthrightis (sorry for spelling)

Actually, it's a small sonic boom created by the bubbles in the synovial fluid (liquid in the joint) popping when you do the Pop of the joint.:eek:

I thought the half circle was skin? Well thats what it was when I ripped off my finder nail:eek: Just a pile of skin. Or is it skin filled with air?:D
