Just signed onto verizon DSL.

Want to use it on two homebased desktop comopuers.

Verizon sent me the modem and setup software/ and one RJ11/ and one RJ 45 cable.

I understand I need a router (Linksys the best??)

Where is the hooking up (of the DSL and router) procedure described so I can do so?

All the differentr protocols seem complicated and I dont want to copnfuse things more than necessary :) (ie Netbui, Gateways, etc..)

A great place to start would be Practically Networked (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/) .

The articles here are well written and make setting up a home network very simple.

All you need is tcpip. don't install netbeui unless it is absolutely necessary.

for the most part, just set your computers to obtain ip automatically.

the instructions come with the linksys router, so just jump in and get it. :)

holy molly!!...

i've never heard about NetBeui being part of any system requirement :x :p

that is such an antique

yeah just plain TCP/IP is best

or at the very Most, install IPX/SPX

some old games needs it for LAN parties :D

example RED Alert 2

i hope C % C generals has TCP/IP :)
