SB Live gets static on mp3's.

I recently bought a SB Live value and it's the only thing on my PCI bus :P Besides I suppose the built in hard drive controller...Anyway I replaced an old Aureal PCI card with it and now if I do some intensive disk use during an mp3 it gets staticky(used to be perfect). Anyway around this? This is on a super 7(epox) w/ a k6 350.
