How to copy audio from games?

I want to copy some audio files to use on my desktop. Like "access granted" etc from games. There is no seperate audio files on the cd. Is there any way to maybe record it or copy it somehow?

It depends. Quake3 based games generally keep their music is in the Pak0.pk3 (I think thats the name). All you need to do is open it up with Winzip! I don't know the legalitys though. Any one have info on that?

Well I payed for the game so I own the cd and I'll be using it on my pc so I don't see a problem. Instead of the dumb noises windows makes, I want some voices. Thanks for the quake info. Is there any way to apply this to other games?
