Please note, if color photo scans are what you're after, 300dpi is the MAX resolution you should scan at. A 8x10 Glossy scanned at 300dpi = about 26mb file size. Higher resolutins are for line art, schematics or other very small images. New on the market is 3D scanners. These can reach a couple of inches and retain focus. Most flatbed scanners are CIS scanners, Contact Image Scan Color depth of 24bit is the minimum acceptable for color photograph work, 36 bit is better. I've had several scanners over the last 3 years, about 12 or so. The HP units just above the bottom of the line are GREAT. The bottom of the line 3200c is OK, not great. Don't spend any more money on each component than you have to. This leaves more for other "Toys" That is unless cash is NO option.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif DrVette sharder8 05-06-2001, 04:12 PM I didn't listen to Dr. Vette -- Sorry Doc!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I did quite a bit of research first and found out Doc's right!!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif (I should have listened to the Doc!)
