Hi, Just got a few things on my mind..

How do you guys test your cpu temperatures, idle and full load?

Do you use a programme or somet? If so, any recommendations?

And also wondered what the maxium temp for a athlon 2200 xp (standard) would be, before it enters the unstable/danger zone?

One more thing...

A low noise fan like a, Cool Jag 656a (jac656a) supports upto 2600xp (aparently) but its fan rotation it very low, obviously to keep noise levels down, how can it get away with this on such high powered processors?

Other fans run at double the speed and only just manage to support the higher cpu's, its just baffling me thats all.

Thanks for any repies.

Your averaging at best with software based temps for instance my 1800 using vcool at idle rite now is 32c where my bios sensor is close to that but more, haven't looked in awhile, aida will report mine as 35c so I have an average to hedge against, the bios sensor though is hardware since its under the cpu. Maybe others can add with flat sensor probe or a typical radio shack probe you might put in the heatsink at various corners to get an average.

Gaming will hike mine to around 45c while system temp will go to 55c. Then micron size of cpu is smaller than previous using less voltage meaning less heat unless you o/c and hike the vcore from 1.70 or 1.75 to 1.80.
