Park a hard drive

How do you do it? I want to move my computer by car some distance and am told I should park the hard drive first.

Wow..I haven't heard that in a while..new drives park themselvesI used to use a program called "timepark"..the new drives have voice coils..and do it by themselves..

When the PC is shut down, the HDD heads are automatically parked. As for the old days, there were utils that parked your hard drive before you shutdown. That will not be necessary for today's hard disk drives.....
