It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe" -nopopup -nosplash I don't know how to disable the splash if ZoneAlarm starts through msconfig, but you could just uncheck it in msconfig and put it in the "Startup" folder instead. PassnThru 05-05-2001, 06:41 PM Thanks Fingers - that was annoying me. mbarn 05-05-2001, 09:18 PM Thanks Fingers- that worked mbarn 05-05-2001, 09:18 PM Thanks Fingers- that worked***** oops! [This message has been edited by mbarn (edited 05-05-2001).] Imperion1 05-06-2001, 01:49 PM I think the splash screen had a place to click to put a checkmark in the box telling zonealarm not to show the splash anymore. Thats how I kept it from coming on all the time. I also have zonealarm come on whenever I bootup, so I don't forget to enable it. club_med 05-06-2001, 02:55 PM Sorry i didnt get this, i have ZA too, it activates automaticaly when i swtich on the computer, what do i do to prevent the splash screen from coming on ?. cm. sharder8 05-06-2001, 03:59 PM Club_med -- Fingers post works -- Zone Alarm loads at start-up and no splash! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Harder samwichse 05-06-2001, 03:59 PM when you use the -nopopup thing, the popups still come up, but the buttons don't work (on the latest version anyhow). There isn't a way to uncheck the splash screen on this version, but you can uncheck the popups thing, which is what I did. Thanks, that had been bugging me too. Now if only someone could tell me how to get rid of the splash on VShield I'd be set... Fingers 05-06-2001, 04:28 PM club_med, on the ZoneAlarm configuration tab, uncheck Load ZoneAlarm at Startup, or uncheck ZoneAlarm in msconfig. Place a shortcut to ZoneAlarm in StartUp folder on the Start menu and modify the command line as previously mentioned. samwichse, I don't use McAfee, so I can't verify that this works. Tip: Remove the McAfee Vshield splash screen First disable Vshield. Then open the DEFAULT.VSH file with a text editor, such as Notepad. In the [General] section, change or add the line "bNoSplash=1". Save when finished. The next time you boot you should NOT see the Vshield Splash Screen. To restore simply change "1" to "0" or delete the line. - WINDOWS TIPS (http://members.bellatlantic.net/~flag4/windows.html) samwichse 05-06-2001, 04:57 PM Hmmm... that only turns off the splash when you start up the actual scanner. The VShield thing that comes up when you boot up still comes on. Oh well, at least it doesn't have the ZA splash overlapping it anymore. Fingers 05-06-2001, 05:32 PM Alright... last try. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif Suppressing the McAfee VirusScan Splash Screen (http://www.csuhayward.edu/ics/atsc/docs/vshield/vshield5.html) SysOpt.com
