Hey all. My workstation is WIndows XP and I log onto a 2000 network with it. It is very slow to download the script in the very beginning. Also, when I access a network folder or drive it tells me that I am working offline when I actually never lost physical connectivity with the server or anything. I can force a synchronization to reconnect. I have assigned myself a static IP address and changed my RWINS and MTU's with no help. Please help! Thanks. :t

Why did you assign a static IP? If your server is assigning DHCP addresses then you are causing problems.
What protocols are installed? TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NETBEUI, etc?

It is using DHCP, however i reserved a few address for my devices and i used one to see if my address was getting release for some reason. That isnt the case it seems. I am only using TCP/IP protocol. Thanks for replying.

TURN OFF, offline files caching
that's the most anoying thing of all

open my computer. click tools - folder options. click on the offline files tab and uncheck "enable offline files"

Oh yeah, i remember now. I will try it. I have enable offline files on all of my 2000 workstations and they dont have problems. Is it just an XP issue?
