Does anyone know anything about a v56la motherboard?? I have done searches for it on the net, and it looks like only Acer (yes I know no one is booing or hissing louder than I) produced this thing. But yet when called they know nothing about it?

Let me guess, it came out of an IBM.

Nope, Acer Aspire...bought in 97 at Wally World (Wal-Mart).

What I am trying to do is upgrade everything on the board w/o frying it.

I suspect it is proprietary to Acer then. Just like the V75M in some of the IBM Aptiva's. The V75M is made by Acer for IBM and neither admit to knowing anything about it.

Thanks artaxerxes, I have already gone to the Acer site for my system and done the CPU and memory upgrades that Acer says I can do. I am now looking at getting a new riser card so I can increase my PCI slots, getting a video accelerator card, and new sound card. Trying to get this thing set up to play online games.
