Bsdboy 05-04-2001, 04:13 PM Connect the cassette player output to your soundcard's line in,record it as a wave file convert the wave to mp3 with program of your choice done. Bsdboy RayH 05-06-2001, 04:56 AM You hook your cassette player to the audio IN of your sound card. You will probably need an RCA Y Jack and an RCA to Mini plug adapter. The adapters are available at RS. Make sure the Mini plug is STEREO and not mono. Next, you need a line ripper program. This site ought to give you a free line ripper if your burning program doesn't already have one. You can find one that will directly record the file to MP3. http://www.audiotools.co.uk/allinone.htm The process is a pain. Despite the fact that the software will claim an ability to automatically split tracks, you will probably have to do it manually. Most of the times these programs hear the hiss as still part of the track and sometimes the lulls in a song as a split! gmcpher196 05-06-2001, 07:46 AM Thanks for the input a friend is having a machine built and he has some demo tapes from local bands that he would like to get on his new computer. Sounds like a hassle to say the least. SysOpt.com
