Hi All,
Well my P-III system just fried itself this morning. Actually saw current floating on the mobo! Scared the **** out of me. Anyhow, it fried 256 megs of ram and the power supply is shot. All the leads on the ram are black! I've got to get something quick(I'm using my trusty old 233 to post here). I don't know what to get. I'm thinking Athlon 1.33 on a KT7A, or maybe a Asus A7A266 so I can use DDR. KT7A does not use DDR right? Then to confuse myself even more, I had this bright idea of buying a Abit VP6 with 2 P-III 1gig chips. I use this thing mostly for gaming so any suggestions would be great. Basically I'm looking for bang for the buck. I salvaged my Voodoo 5,sound card,3Com Nic,and HDD, but I need a Mobo,Processor,Ram,and Power Supply. Any suggestions, and or comments on the 3 options above would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!
