if one could get 2 64 meg pc100 8ns memory boards for the same price as one 128 meg pc100 10ns memory board is the 64 meg memory a better deal or does it make a difference whether you have 1 or 2 memory modules installed???????????

I'd go for the 128 because it only takes one slot, leaving room for additional ram when prices drop even more!

I agree, all things being equal, )price included!), why not just get the one? If there were any difference at all, I'd get the cheaper.

But in reality, what kind of programs are you going to use that would require more than 128mb ram?

I've heard a lot of pros and cons, but unless you're ujsing really memory intensive applications, more than 128 would probably not increase performance at all, possibly performance would suffer a bit.

Take Care,

Mike P.

Hello, Grandslammer just posted that there are cases where using 128m of ram may SLOW down performance? Why?
what are the circumstances where that might happen?

well i run 256 ram and use around 200 for unreal and even the less memory intensive games like baldurs gate uses 150 megs

as for the memory i agree with bba just a little more convenient in the future
