I have an LCD Temp gauge w/ flat probe I can place against the side of my CPU to read temps. My question is... Is there a "Best" side to place the probe against to get the highest(Most accurate?) core reading?
I have an XP2100 "B" Tbred. and the probe is placed against the right hand side when looking at it with the ident tag at the bottom. The problem is the readings I get seem to be off a good 4-5c from what I computed the temps should be from Watts * c/w =X c + Ambient c = Core Temp. My sensors are accurate to within about .3c, so I can't account for the variance other than that the probe is placed against one of the cooler(?) sides of the CPU.
Trial and error would result in unmounting and mounting the HS 4 more times, which I would like to avoid that if possible.
Anyone seen a Thermograph of a hot Tbred? Which side is closest to the hottest spot in the core?
system:
Epox 8K5a2+, 2100+ Tbred B@2386Mhz, Vcore 1.825v, Thermalright AX-7 w/YSTech 49 CFM fan, ASIII compound.
