Hi

My friend has a pentium 3 860 mhz computer with 128 MB of ram, with no video card. What video card would beneifit him the most? I understand a 9700 or geforce 4 would be held back by the processor speed. Which one should he get? Thanks.

I think Geforce 4 TI & Radeon 9700 Pro would be a little overkill for a PIII 866 mhz

you would possibly be better off with a Geforce 3 ti200 or Radeon 8500 like big ugly baby said :x :x :x

those newer cards dont really make much of a difference if your mobo is ganna be a bottleneck , it would be like wasteing cash.

I'd go with G3 Ti200...still has great performance for most games.

I'd either go for a Radeon 8500 or a Radeon 9000 :)

id say get the 4200 ti card and in the future all ull have to go is upgrade the mobo and processor .... if that sounds good he can always buy the 9500pro

prices newegg.com
GF3 4200ti =105
GF4 4200ti=140
9500pro = $180

all those cards are 128mb versions..... just dont purchase a "budget" card...... the ge4 card overclocks well also btw
