I need to know if there is a size limitation for windows Me or for a ECS K7SEM MB using a 80 Gig Maxtor HD? I am using a 20 gig for the operating system and want to set-up the 80 for storage. If their is a size limitation what is it and how can I overcome it? do I have to use disk overlay software....?
Thanks in advance,
Nate

Bah! WinME supports gobs of space. The BIOS of your motherboard would be a possible problem. Update your BIOS to be sure.

Oh - and ditch ME as soon as you have the money and the memory. ;)

Bill I was hoping to get a response from you. How ya doing? I have XP, but I am setting up this PC for my Girlfriends son. According to the ECS website info the Rev. 1.0 MB only has the original Bios available for it.

I'm sure that the K7SEM supports 80GB+.

I'm fine, BTW. :t

Well, I split it into 2 partitions and formatted the second with NTFS and left the first blank. Going to use it for storage 1 for Win ME and the other for Win XP (Dual boot) I remember trying to use this 80Gig drive before on this MB and I couldn't get it to load windows. I hope it will detect it now.
