Netscape 6.01 slooowww...

I just dl'd Netscape 6.01. And it it SLOW ! Am I simply missing something here or what ? It shouldn't be my puter, K6-II 450@525, 256 Mb, Matrox G450 DH and so on.

If ya want a new experience in speed, download Opera 5.02 at www.opera.com (http://www.opera.com)

It'll make I.E. look slow too!

I actually tried Oper 5, but I really disn't like the way it handles windows, I like the IE-way. The way netscape does it wasn't so bad either. (But SLOOOOOOOOW)

But hey, if things are great, there's nothing to improve, right ?

I tried 6.01 a few weeks ago. What a dog! I quickly went back to 4.74

...I tried 6.0 trial version for about 10 minutes...took that long to find the homepage (Netscape)...the fastest thing it did was uninstall...lol

Dont know what O.S. you guys are running it on, but I'm running Netscape 6.01 on Mandrake Linux 8, and it's great. No slower than 4.77 or any other browser I've tried.

I would ditch the 6.0 Netscape version and go to the 4.x version. Much better.
