Installation to, folder pops up after re-boot

Does any one remember the fix for stopping the popping up of the “installed to” folder of any software in Win XP?

Say you installed a program into “C:\xxxxxx\software” and after you finished you re-boot and this folder window (loads)

Sometimes we don’t remember and need help.

I wish :x

1. You install a new software program
2. You installed it to eg. C:\new\software
3. installed without problem
4. you now shut down and re-boot
5. after you re-boot, the folder window for the installed software eg. C:\new\software - displays on your monitor
6. you close it - no problem
7. you shut down and re-boot
8. The folder loads again (displays on your Screen)

Not in "Start up" group
Not in Win.INI file

What makes it load the folder (display the folder on your computer at startup)

Open MSCONFIG.EXE and look for an entry called "Program". Uncheck it. Uncheck all suspect items.

Could be really badly written virus too.
