is 1 extra processor fan (5000 rpm) enough to overclock a 2.53ghz to 3ghz? im using an asus p4pe, if that matters at all...

what is optimum temperature, and what program should i use to monitor it?

I would use mother board montor to montior it, depending if it supports your motherboard. It is a very good tool but takes a tad bit of time to learn, but it is worth it.

That is quiet a big jump that you are looking at doing and my require more than air cooling to pull off if it is at all possiable .

yea, if it doesnt work im thinking of getting koolance (www.koolance.com)

It really depends on how much money you want to put into it. If you are looking for just speed in some cases it may be better to just buy a faster chip and MB. If you are in it for the fun of OCing and pimping out your box then go for it.
:)

I would love to get one of those systems, but I am just a poor programmer:(

well, getting koolance would be much cheaper, koolance is around $250, and buying a 3.06ghz chip is $600+, 2.53ghz i got for around $250...that saves me $100, also getting liquid cooling would let me overclock my video card, and having liquid cooling is cool, so i can brag about it to my friends ;)

Actually, 3GHz from 2.53GHz, for a P4, is not that big of a jump. Some chips do it more easily than others -- the stock HSF should be fine. ;)

If you want to go the water cooling route, don't waste $$$$ on Koolance. Make yourself a custom system instead. For $250, you could get a killer system using these things:

White Water block for P4
$110

Cooler Core Combo
$48

Danner Mag 5 500 gph pump
$50

8 feet of 1/2 ID Clearflex tubing
$12

And assorted doo dads - $20

All for $240, and about 10C better than a Koolance. :p

For $240, case not included. :p

10C less is anyway achievable on a koolance with a fan over the voltage regulator, which you will need anyway in a watercooled system.

Really gib, this is childish.

What the heck is a voltage regulator? Is it some Koolance proprietary thingy?

The 10C figure is true. If you don't believe me, go over to here (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=71) and ask around. :p
