I have decided to go with the ECS K7S5A MOBO with an Athlon XP 2000 CPU. I will put a Gforce 3 DDR 64 meg vid card on it. It will have a 400watt PS. I can get the mobo combo for $130.00 and the video card for $79.00. I just cant figure out if this board has onboard LAN or if I gonna need to use my NIC card for my cable modem. opinions please...With so many choices out there, it has been difficult for me to decide what to get. Pricewatch steers me to bargain places only to find out at resellerratings.com that they are worthless places to deal with. I dont have alot of money to spend, and have no clue other than Asus, Abit, Epox, which other boards are good. I see aot of PC Chip 830LR's 810's, etc out there, LOTS of them, not sure of how good they are tho. Gigbyte has a few, never heard of them. Please advise on what to stay away from as far as mobo combos, as it will help me narrow down the choices. the ECS board stated above is the choice now, until someone says something bad about it, lol then I back to square 1 probably looking again. Dont wanna spend more than $150 bucks for mobo combo. thanks

The PCChips 830LR and ECS K7S5A are the same board, with the only difference (besides the color of the boards) being that the ECS is for retail sale and the PCChips is usually found only in oem channels. This board has onboard LAN and sound.

The ECS K7S5A / PCChips 830LR is a good motherboard. I'm using it for my gaming computer. The XP 2000+ will be fine.
