in terms of performance if i`m looking for slight o`cing and best overall performance .and i`m not interested in RAID or other stupid stuff i`ll be fine with a ultra ata 100 7200rev drive. preferably a nice onboard sound card and a LAN card or ethernet would be cool, so do u have any mobo in mind i think asus p4pe is nice and the intel 850emv2,any further suggestions will be apreciated.

The 850 requires Rambus memory. Don't go there.

The P4PE is excellent. There's also the MSI 845PE Max, Abit BE7, SOYO SY-P4I-845PE and Epox EP-4PEA+.

I'm running the MSI 845 PE-Max VS 2.0 Nice board. Got my 2.4a P4 up to 3GHz with it. Using a Tt Spark 7 HSF. :x
