Poll being opened by ppl who want to know something, I have my own poll on OSes since yesterday, the other dude has poll of AMD vs Intel, so what's wrong ? In that way, other ppl who participate, have the chance of learning something new, don't you think ? And if you don't like polls - just don't participate http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

P.S. In my opinion, as long as poll deals with tech side - it should be in it's respective section.

Best Regards ...

It's not just a typical poll, most user also leave there opinion too. so you can see how they really feel about certain product.

But from the looks of it, there's more and more poll popping up now and days.

Nothing wrong with polls. They can help people decide on a certain product and it interesting to which product people are using.

Do we really need a poll about whether people think that polls are necessary. Aren't ya being a little hipocritical creating this post?

I wouldn't say i'm being hypocritical i am just highlighting the fact that there seems to be a lot of polls around. the fact that i am doing it with a poll is meant to highlight the frivolity of most of them!

p.s. i think i started it basically cos i'm in a bad mood as mentioned above and am only replying cos yes i am still in a bad mood!!

Polling is a trend. Don't worry, it will go away.

Acutally I hadn't been in the forum yet when I posted that, it was one of those Latest updated topics, there are quite a few polls since yesterday, though they are slightly educational, take that CDROM speed poll, pretty everyone has a minimum of a 32X speed drive. I figured a few would have posted with something like an 8X or 6X but everyone seems updated. I you don't like the polls then don't open them, it's simple as that, and like wyvrn said it's just a current trend, much like the "hamster"(don't ask) phase.

More polls than a pole-vaulting competition in Poland recently http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Polls are... educational and fun. Actually I began the CDROM "How many X" SPEED POLL tongue-in-cheek, as there are polls about just about anything recently. I was amazed when so many responded, but found the results interesting.

AS I HAVE SAID ON THE OTHER THREADS/POLLS, SURVEYS ARE NOTHING IF THE CREATOR OF THAT THREAD WILL NOT TABULATE THE ACTUAL OUTCOME OF THE ANSWERS.

So Donkey, will you be courageous enough to start the tabulation?

As for your poll question, my answer is yes.

"Polls show" that there should be a separate Forum for Polls. It would save cluttering up Forums dedicated to more useful topics. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I agree that there should be polls, as long as they pertain to something important and related to computers/technology. I find myself perusing through them many a time, it's interesting to see what other people have and to see their opinions just broadens the diversity of this already popular forum!

As this is a poll about polls, and not specifically a tech poll, this poll thread shall continue to be polled in Community.
