Groundzero:
The Memorex discs have a gold tint to them. I bought a bunch and had no problem burning data CD's, but if you burn music CD's I found that certain players (like the one in my new Chrysler van) wouldn't read them.

I've had better luck with the blue or greenish tinted CD's (like Imation or Fuji).

All of the manufacturers of cd media have different qualties of CD-Rs. Memorex is a good (not the best) cd-r disk. Many swerar by them, others say they create more coasters with memorex than with other brands. Methinks its the low quality disks...seconds, ect that some ppl are having problems with.

As with anything, you generally get what you pay for. To learn more about cd-r disks, do some reading at the following site.

I had bad luck with Memorex CD-Rs. They wouldn't read on my portable cd player while in anti-skip mode.

On the other hand, Imation has always worked.

I gotta say, I've had most EXCELLENT luck with the Memorex CD-R BLACK discs.

Ok, I admit I only got them at first because I thought "Oh cool, black CDs". And they are kinda cool looking...but more importantly, they WORK WELL. I've found them to have excellent tracking ability for audio CDs. In fact, some of my burned BLACK CDs actually track better in my car CD player than the original (silver) CDs they're copied from.

I've used memorex with no probs for data, music was a different story. Used imation for both data and music and they work ok for most of the time. for my OP system disks copies and game copies {for my own use, got carless kids who toss them around like fresbies} I use the H.P. cdr's {burner is a H.P. 10x4x34x} for maxium compatalbility {lol bad spelling} and peace of mind, yea they cost more then most others, but I havn't made a coster yet using H.P's cd'r's burning at 10x.. Cheers!
